When do I need a structural engineer?
Before you touch anything load-bearing, extend your house or add significant loads. Get in touch as soon as you have first sketches: we will help you work out what needs to be designed. In Belgium, works that need a permit are also designed and supervised by an architect, and there is no building control inspection: the structural design is what shows that the structure is sound.
How much does a structural engineer cost?
It depends on the planned works and the scope of the job. We send you a free quote once we understand your project. See also our price guide for Belgium.
I do not have plans yet. Can I still contact you?
Yes. A description of the works, the address of the building and a few photos are enough to start the conversation. We will tell you which documents we need next.
Can you work in English?
Yes. The engineer handling your project replies in English by phone and email, and can provide structural calculations, drawings and reports in English.
Do you work outside Brussels?
Yes. We are based in Brussels and work on projects across Belgium. Site visits are arranged according to the needs of the job.
